Yorketown Medical Practice (VR GP)

Medical clinic seeking full time VR GP to join their practice in the hub of the southern Yorke Peninsula, Yorketown, South Australia.

Yorketown Medical Practice provides community-based healthcare services including family health, preventative medicine, shared antenatal care, and minor surgical procedures, and provides emergency services to the hospital. The practice is co-located with the hospital and services the community of Yorketown and surrounding districts with populations largely made up of retirees and families with children under 15 years.
This mixed billing practice is supported by a team of dedicated health professionals including practice nurse, emergency-trained Registered Nurse, practice manager, and receptionist. There is a pathology service nearby and the practice benefits from admission rights to the hospital.
The hospital is supported by SAVES (South Australian Virtual Emergency Service) to provide support for after-hours presentations.

Hours:
• Practice: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm
• Hospital: 1:2 roster for emergency services

Qualifications considered / Experience
• Vocational registration
• MBBS or equivalent
• CHSA credentialling
• Recent emergency experience
• Ability to gain credentials as a General Practitioner – GP Emergency Medicine

Practice Nurse (Registered Nurse)

The Yorketown Medical Practice provides high quality community-based healthcare services to the rural community of Yorketown and surrounding districts. As a well established and highly regarded mixed billing practice, we strive to provide the highest standard of care for our community.

About the role
• Part-time position (0.4 FTE – 2 days per week)
• Located in Yorketown

The Yorketown Medical Practice is a fully accredited practice and has recently secured a permanent GP. We are now expanding our team and seeking an additional practice nurse to join our team on a part-time basis. The medical practice offers excellent working conditions, attractive salary, salary packaging and access to relocation assistance through RDWA up to $5,000 for eligible candidates.

Our ideal candidate will have:
• A passion for delivering the best patient centred care in a rural setting
• You are a qualified Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
• A current practicing certificate
• Current first aid certificate including CPR
• Experience in rural or regional healthcare settings is highly regarded

About You:
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
• Understanding scope of practice
• Delivery of high-quality patient care to a diverse range of patients
• Broad range of clinical skills (ECG, spirometry, INR, wound dressings/assessment)

As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients. Your role will be essential in ensuring our practice runs smoothly and efficiently while delivering an exceptional standard of care.

About the role
Key responsibilities include:
• Greeting and assisting patients in a professional and compassionate manner.
• Organising and scheduling patient appointments.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Providing administrative support to doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Answering phone calls and addressing patient enquiries.
• Managing billing, payments, and other clerical duties as needed.

About You:
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
• A friendly, approachable, and professional demeanour.
• Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting is an advantage but not essential.
